Thoughts: The move is Fantastic I absolutely love it. This move is initially intended for a rising card but it can be used for very clean switches aswell. Its deffinately not as hard as Raise Rise and I believe it has a more visual aspect you riffle down and you are bassically saying your card will rise to here. With Raise Rise there is no signal the card has just risen so it takes a moment to register (Not disrespecting Raise Rise at all) and Chris is a nice guy he is funny and very laid back I enjoy watching any of his videos and any of his material.
What They Say: You insert a selection into the deck and leave it outjogged near the bottom. With just a shake, the outjogged card rises out a quarter of the way up the deck. It happens again, and again until the outjogged selection ends up on top of the deck.
If you've ever wanted to perform Raise Rise but don't want to break your fingers, this is the perfect trick for you. Even Ray Kosby agrees:

Teaching: Like in 'Cardsexchange' Chris is a funny guy very laid back and goes through the explaination in great detail all up the video runs for about 18 minutes and a lot of that is spent explaining the move. Chris also runs through framing the move where is should be performed how many times the rise should be performed before the spectator decides to leave. Overall a fantastic job I'm really enjoying Chris's stuff.
Method: Like Ray Kosby says It looks just as good as Raise Rise and it is learned much faster. The method is smart he explains how it sort of branches off from a lot of other rising card effects and the history of those effects aswell. The move isn't to hard there are a few things that happen at once while the rise happens but I don't think anyone should have a problem getting this down.
Applications: The move has a vast range of applications The rise, a switch, a colour change just to name a few. This move can be added to so many places in your routine to make inserting there card into the pack 'Cleanly' showing them there card then to have it switched out. Very versatile.
Quality: Nothing is wrong here Vanishing Inc has great quality videos the only thing I can when I pick at it is adding and extra angle close up but that's all the angles where great and easy to learn from great job!
I recommend this to anyone beginner to expert I'm sure everyone will learn something and get something out of this its a great move and a lot of fun to play with.
Pick it Up you won't be dissapointed.

Vanishing Inc's 'downloads' cannot be recommended -- because they aren't downloads. One is permitted to view these short videos only on their website, and if you don't have a fast connection -- too bad, baby! It also means you can't review them at your leisure.
They cite the well-known fact that there are dirtbags out there who will copy these videos and trade them around with friends, enemies, and strangers. In other words, they paint every customer with the same brush and punish the innocent with the guilty.

Isn't that the same way that Dan and Dave do it? I admit, it's frustrating. You want to download something and keep it on your hard drive or iPod to review when you want. And, the thing is, if the files are .flv files, then they can be ripped just like YouTube videos. Unless the videos are streaming, they can still be pirated. So, this policy just frustrates the legal downloader while not preventing piracy.

Agreed. It does not stop piracy. I've seen Dan and Dave's AND Vanishing Inc.'s stuff for download.
Not to worry everyone. I BUY everything I get. In fact I've bought quite a few 'Downloads' from Vanishing Inc. and Dan and Dave.
I've got to agree with Chet above though. A few weeks back I went through a week long struggle with Vanishing Inc. because for some reason I could not watch the video's in my members area. (And I've got six in there). I bought the One-handed top palm video and I couldn't view it. So I tried all of my other videos. No dice. I had no problem before then. As I say, Just all of a sudden none of them would work. I e-mailed customer support and after bouncing quite a few e-mails back and forth, Andi trying all sorts of different things and my patience wearing thin, I finally got it to where I could view the videos.
It seems like a lot of trouble for nothing to me. If someone wants to pirate them, They WILL find a way. And in the meantime here we are getting stuck paying for the product and not being able to view it.
I'm all for putting the kibosh on piracy. But come on. Theres got to be a better way.
Aside from all of that. I will say that I really like what Vanishing Inc. has been putting out. I've enjoyed (Problems not withstanding) everything that I've gotten from them and I just ordered *A Clockwork Apple* and am looking forward to it almost as much as I looked forward to *High Spots*.

I agree. I have two 'downloads' from Dan&Dave and find it very frustrating that I cannot put them on my iPod to watch on the go. I do have a fast internet connection, but sometimes I don't always have access to a computer. It really stinks that piracy has become this big of an issue.

Hmmm. Don't understand the problem. If you're on Windows Explorer, everything you view on the web becomes a temporary internet file.

Frustrating! Pirates will always find a way. Guess what. The other night the wireless router at my house just stopped working. Guess what! I had just bought a download off vanishing inc and guess what! I couldn't see it. Very frustrating.
What will happen when the site is temporarily unavaialbe?
The Server is down?
The bandwith exceeded?
The site is hacked?
This could become a issue in my opinion.
Btw I am in no way bashing out at vanishing inc. I really like their ideas and they have great instant downloads and exclusives but when it comes to watching it.. not that great.
Anyway Lazy Rise is really good effect. It's basically a brainstorming of many other similar effects. Totally worth it. The offer they have is also good if you buy the book you get the two instant downloads (cardsexchange and lazy rise) for the price of one. I already have the book on its way:D.

Did this really need to become one of these threads? Vanishing inc really doesn't have a name for there 'Online Videos' so I consider it a download. But can we talk about the accual effect? since that's what a review is about, not about piracy? But yes sometimes the loading can be a problem they mention on the site though depending on the size of the video the longer it takes to load and yes if your net is slow its a bad thing.

When you don't have an internet connection you can't see the clip. That is not an amazingly bright idea, but it is an important point for me.

Indeed, when one tries out new ways of serving the customer, those ways might get in the way of your products.
I have downloaded 2 items from Vanishing, and I like them both, also the general 'feel' of the website, but I also concur ( remember the movie? ) with what was said above.
Lazy rise looks nice, but sorry to say, I'm traveling soon, don't know about all the internet connections in different places, take a laptop with me, will not download Lazy rise, so no more insight from me.

I acually didn't say anything 'Bad' about the customer service I just saiid that they said. The longer the video the longer it will take to load initially and I said its a problem if you have slow connection but that would be the same if you bought a 1on1 from theory11 for example it would still take a long time to download if you have bad connection but if you think what you are buying is worth it you will take the time and wait for it to load. If it was implied that I meant it was bad I didn't mean it in anyway. Because either way download/online video if you connection is slow you screwed either way.

Why sould customers have to wait for an 'Instant' download Tom? Slow connection or not? I didn't see two different prices. One for fast and one for slow connections. Everyone pays the same so the service should be the same. Don't you think so?
And couple that with the fact that the whole reason for all of this (That being preventing piracy) doesn't work at all because thier videos ARE being pirated and.... We come down to what is simply overkill and a problem for paying customers.
I buy thier stuff because I like it. But that doesn't mean that I have to like the way they are doing it.

Piracy can't be really be stopped people will always find a way to pirate things. Of course you don't have to like the way they do it that's your choice in the end your right it is a problem for the customers. But the companies have there own way of handling these problems its up to us to notify them of the problem and they can try fix it.

Agree 100% Tom. I've already had a conversation about it with them. When I couldn't watch the videos in my members area. They don't seem to want to budge and I think this is why:

They can be proud all they want. But if they think that they are preventing piracy, they are mistaken. Sorry... but that's the truth. Meanwhile they are losing customers who want nothing to do with, and do not participate in piracy. So being afraid of losing sales TO piracy is causing them to lose sales still.
But... Its thier company and they can do what they wish.

Hi Tom, thank you for the great review I'm glad you liked it. As for the download situation, don't think you are not being heard, because you are. Andi and Josh are currently deciding what they are going to do. Whatever it might be, I'm sure it will solve any issue you might be having with the downloads.

I knew they would be doing something myself didn't have a problem but I can see some did. Can't wait to see what they decide to do.
